Xian is not only a tourist city, but also a city filled with delicate food. It is a must for the visitors to taste "two banquets" and "two Pao". The "two banquets" refer to budget meal of Shaanxi flavor in Xian Restaurant and the dumpling banquet in De Fa Chang Dumpling Restaurant and Jiefang Road dumpling restaurant. The "two pao" mean the shredded cake in mutton and beef soup and Hulutou. The most famous restaurants of shredded cake in mutton and beef soup are the Sun's restaurant and Tong Sheng Xiang Restaurant.
Budget meal of Shaanxi flavor in (snack feast) Xi'an Restaurant: The Snack Feast caters to the customer with selected snacks form Xi'an. The crispy pie is reputed as "the first refreshment in Chang'an". The "bubble fried cake" melts immediately in the mouth. The "golden thread fried tower" refers to a kind of noodles which, when picked up with chopsticks, tend to coil back into the shape of a tower. The "date pulp paste" is smooth and tasty. And the "persimmon pie" is soft and palatable. Other traditional flavors include the "millet crust", "glutinous rice cake", "cold rice noodles", and "corn flour fish".
Dumpling banquet in Da Fa Chang Dumpling Restaurant: The dumpling banquet features a collection of stuffed dumplings originally created in the palaces and mansions or by the common people. The dumplings are prepared by way of steaming, boiling, frying, etc. the big attraction is the colors, flavors, tastes and shapes. The largest feast may run more than 120 varieties.

Beef or mutton soup with cakes (the shredded cake in mutton and beef soup): The Beef of Mutton Soup with Cakes started from a variety of mutton soups in the Zhou Dynasty. This typical Islamic snack is prepared with well done meat and thick gravy, best served with tough cake morsels stewed in. There are roughly four varieties. Before serving, the cake is usually nipped into small morsel pieces by the guest himself. The stew is not supposed to be disturbed in any big way during serving. The guest should take it bit by bit from one side. It is usually served with chili paste and pickled garlic.
De Fa Chang Restaurant is the NO.1 in Hulutou. In addition, Cold noodles, and Qishan noodles are tasty and well-known Shaanxi specialties.
There are countless delicate food in Xian which is mainly collected in four blocks. The first one is along the East Street. Many old restaurants are located here. The second one is the South Street which consists of shopping, dinning and entertainment. The area near Beiyuan Men and the Nan'er Huan's surroundings are the last two ones.

Guangdong Style (Cantonese cuisine)
Guangdong cuisine is probably the most familiar in the west. Egg rools, chow mein, dim sum, pastries and steamed fish are all indisputably Guangdong cuisine in origin. It was developed in Guangdong, Huizhou and Chaozhou and on Hainan Island in South China. As the climate there is hot, the dishes are tender and lightly seasoned. Sichuan Style
Sichuan cuisine is world-famous for its hot and spicy dishes.
