
The Tomb of concubine Yang is situated about 60 km. to the west of Xi' an. Concubine yang's tomb is situated near to Xianyang city which was the capital of China's first dynasty.
Concubine Yang, also named Yang Yuhuan, was one of the Four Beauties of ancient China. Originally she was the wife of Xuanzong's son. However, Xuanzong fell in love with her and accommodated her into the palaces. She went by the name Taizhen, in which the palace was named after. After several years she left Taizhen palace and she was ennobled high-ranked imperial concubine and ranked with the empress.
Concubine Yang is not only beautiful, but also talented in music and dancing. It is said that Emperor Xuanzong gave her his music piece Melody of Plumage. After reading it only for a short time she is able to perform it very well.

They also attribute the rebellion to the power struggle among the nobleman and rampant growth of the local forces. Concubine Yang, a weak woman, was unfairly the victim of their struggle. Some of the inscriptions blame Xuanzong for his mercilessness and heartlessness.
